Sharon Wooding has followed two distinct and equally serious directions in her work, fine art and children’s illustration. A graduate of Bucknell University, Wooding continued her studies in art at University of Colorado, DeCordova Museum School, The School of the Boston Museum of Fine Art, and through private workshops.
She has received numerous awards for her work, and has exhibited in local, regional and national exhibitions through Copley Society of Boston, Cambridge Art Association, Concord Art Association, public and private galleries, and New England Watercolor Society where she is a signature member and served on the executive board for many years. She has earned a place in WHO’S WHO IN THE EAST, and some of her paintings can be seen in Rockport Publisher’s books, THE BEST OF WATERCOLOR, and WATERCOLOR-ABSTRACT.
Wooding has illustrated a number of children’s books, including her own ARTHUR’S CHRISTMAS WISH (Atheneum Publishers), THE PAINTER'S CAT (Putnam), and most recently, THE MONASTERY CAT and LEONARDO’S CAT (Small Batch Books).
